About Sonic Exploring:

Sonic Exploring was founded in 2023 by Brooklyn-based musician, composer, sonic magician, and educator Eliot Krimsky. Originally from Cambridge, MA, Krimsky studied jazz piano and composition at the New England Conservatory of Music under the mentorship of Danilo Pérez and Michael Cain.

After moving to New York, he became known as the lead singer and co-founder of the art-pop band Glass Ghost, performing internationally and composing scores for films featured on HBO, Netflix, and The New York Times. Krimsky’s latest album, I Made My House (Moon Glyph, 2025), evokes a liminal space of loss where dreams, memory, and the afterlife drift in and out of focus. The record was named Album of the Day and Best Ambient Album of September by Bandcamp Daily and described by Jonathan Herwig of WFMU as “a beautiful mix of outsider folk, atmospheric electronics, and ethereal multi-layered jazz.”

Sonic Exploring works with students of all ages and backgrounds, helping them develop technical skill, creative confidence, and a personal artistic voice. Students have gone on to attend schools such as Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, and Berklee College of Music. In 2025, guided by the Sonic Exploring mantra “anything is possible,” one student composed an original work that was performed by his 8th grade orchestra.

As an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience, Krimsky has worked with students in private studios, public schools, and community programs. He is currently on faculty at Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and has taught at Edward R. Murrow High School, Pioneer Works, and Music Mentor Collaborative, which brings music education to underserved communities nationwide.

At its core, Sonic Exploring is about listening deeply — to sound, to intuition, and to the inner creative voice. Technique matters, but imagination leads. Anything is possible
